Description
Bastard Sword, Hand-and-a-Half with Scabbard
A bastard sword refers to late medieval and renaissance swords whose length exceeds that of a single-handed sword.
Mostly, they are swords for hand-and-a-half.
This reconstruction is made exclusively by hand. The straight, twisted crossguard and the pommel are made of iron. The blade is continuous to the pommel
and is screwed there. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade has a distinct fuller, which gives the sword great
elasticity and at the same time lightness. The blade edge is not sharpened.
The sword comes with a leather-covered wooden scabbard, fitted with simple chape and locket.
This is the regular version of the bastard sword. The same sword is also available in a stage combat-ready version, with a blunt blade and rounded tip: item no. 0116340206.
Details:
– Blade material: EN45 spring steel
– Total length: approx. 118,5 cm
– Blade length: approx. 92,5 cm
– Blade width at the guard: approx. 57 mm
– Balance point: approx. 15 cm before the guard
– Includes scabbard made of wood and leather
– Regular version, also available is the
battle-ready version (item no. 0116340206)
– Weight without scabbard: approx. 1800 g
