Description
Scottish Dirk with Scabbard
The Scottish Dirk evolved from the kidney dagger, which was widespread in Europe, and appeared in the form shown here around the end of the 16th century. The blade is long and single-edged, and also features a back edge in the tip area. In addition, the three fullers are shifted towards the striking edge. The riveted wooden handle, decorated with an angular pattern, is made of hardwood and fits comfortably in the hand. The Scottish Dirk comes with a sheath equipped with a mouth plate and a flattened chape. Furthermore, a carrying device can be attached to the sheath.
