Description
Hutton Saber
The British fencing master and officer Alfred Hutton (1839-1910) was a proponent of the French fencing school. He advocated for the revival of historical fencing while also modernizing the fencing techniques of his time.
One of Hutton's great recognized achievements is that he breathed new life into the sport of fencing after it had fallen into the category of anachronistic, esoteric activities.
Hanwei's Hutton Saber is built after the original, featuring a stainless steel guard and a grip with imitation sharkskin and wire wrapping. The blade and hilt of the Hutton Saber mimic the style of a military saber to create a more realistic training sword. The blade is slightly shortened, lighter, and features a rounded tip for effective training. Additionally, it is somewhat more flexible than the military version of the sword.
From Hanwei.
