Description
Claymore Sword, Marto
A claymore is the Scottish variant of the late medieval two-handed longsword. Characterized by this sword is a cross-hilt with forward-sloping quillons ending in quatrefoils. It was in use from the 15. to 17. century. James I (1394 – 1437), King of Scotland, was crowned in Scone in 1424. After overcoming the Clan of Albany as a child due to their conspiracies against him, he weakened the power of the feudal lords. Under his rule, Scottish laws were established and a system of weights and measures was fixed. He was also a remarkable poet. He was murdered by Sir Robert Graham during a conspiracy. For his bravery in battle and the strong hand with which he ruled his land, he was called THE LION OF SCOTLAND.
