Description
The Bear & Son American Bowie Damascus 502D is a true masterpiece, featuring a Damascus steel blade. This unique steel is created by combining different steels with properties that result in a blade that is remarkably hard and holds its edge well. It has been a legendary material since its invention almost 2,000 years ago and was central to production in the ancient city of Damascus. This steel was so good that it was even compared to the Damascus cloth that the city of Damascus produced at that time.
Under the microscope, the blade's edge reveals tiny saw-tooth carbides, formed by forging the steel in a charcoal fire. These carbides allow the blade to continue cutting even when it feels dull. The flexibility of this steel is astonishing, and each piece of Damascus is as unique as a fingerprint. When ground at an angle to shape the blade, the stunning pattern of this steel is truly remarkable.
The Bear & Son American Bowie Damascus 502D is perfect for a variety of tasks, from hunting trips to mountain hikes. It is a fixed blade knife made with quality in mind, right here in the USA. With limited quantities available, don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of history with this exceptional knife.
