Matsey was founded in October 2019 by Maciej Modrzejewski. The brand emerged from a passion for personal development and the desire to create unique products in the EDC (Everyday Carry) niche. Originally established under a different name in a picturesque town near the Polish capital, Matsey's main motivation was to realize dreams and embark on a journey outside the comfort zone.

From the outset, the brand's founder focused on creating products not readily available or popular in the market, aiming to appeal to like-minded individuals passionate about the EDC hobby. This vision led Matsey to specialize in crafting leather goods and organizers, which quickly became known for their utility and distinctive appeal.

As the brand evolved, Maciej Modrzejewski ventured into new territory, delving into the world of knives. In November 2021, the ambitious Striga knife project emerged from a collaboration with Bestech Knives, marking a significant milestone for Matsey's growth and innovation.
