Description
The Otter Mercator knife is a timeless classic that has been manufactured in Solingen for over 150 years and was registered as a German Imperial utility model (D.R.G.M.) before the turn of the century. The knife became known far beyond the country's borders during World War I, when it was issued to soldiers of the German Army under Kaiser Wilhelm II. During World War II, the Mercator knife developed into one of the most popular souvenirs for American soldiers.
The no-frills pocket knife impresses with a simple design and a robust brass construction. The blade made of 4034 can be opened easily with two hands using the nail nick and is reliably secured by a sturdy backlock. The elegant leather lanyard expands the transport and attachment options of the pocket knife and also ensures safe handling.
