Description
18th Century Court Sword with Scabbard
During the Baroque period, this civilian weapon, known as the court sword or dress sword, developed. From the mid-17th century, it gradually replaced the rapier, as there was a need for lighter and less cumbersome weapons than the rapier. This was due to the increased population growth and the associated lack of space during that time.
This replica of the court sword features an EN45 spring steel blade with a triangular cross-section, which is not sharpened. The guard and the curved handguard are made of brass, with a wooden grip.
The scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood, with brass fittings and a hook for attaching the scabbard to a belt.
Special features:
– Light court sword
– Sword scabbard made of leather with brass fittings
Details:
– Blade material: EN45 spring steel
– Total length: approx. 93 cm
– Blade length: approx. 77,5 cm
– Weight: approx. 517 g
The above specifications may vary slightly from piece to piece.
