Out of almost nowhere, Benchmade has introduced a new fixed-blade knife that aims to redefine the standards for everyday carry. The Dacian was designed for those who typically rely on folding knives.
Ergonomic shape with top-notch steel
The Dacian features a 9-centimeter spearpoint blade, making it the ideal companion for a variety of tasks. The curve of the blade culminates in a sharp, elongated tip that offers both precision and power for cutting tasks. What sets the Dacian apart is the careful consideration of its design for detailed work – the jimping along the spine provides excellent grip and control, ensuring that the knife feels secure and responsive in hand.
Benchmade has equipped the Dacian with CPM-MagnaCut, a material that has quickly earned a reputation as a leading super steel for knives. MagnaCut is known for its exceptional toughness and corrosion resistance, making it the ideal choice for a knife meant to be carried and used daily. Whether it’s about slicing through tough materials or executing fine cuts, the Dacian’s blade is designed for outstanding performance. The brown canvas version is also coated with a dark blue titanium nitride finish, which is both aesthetically pleasing and offers additional protection against wear and corrosion.
The handle is made from Micarta and feels comfortable and secure in hand thanks to its contouring and additional jimping on the underside. The lanyard hole is a handy feature that allows the Dacian to theoretically become a neck knife. This is further supported by the included custom-fitted Kydex sheath with a pocket clip. The only catch, typical of Benchmade, is the price tag: The Dacian is expected to start just under the 300-euro mark.
