Kizer Noble

The Kizer Noble Ki4550A1 is a folding knife inspired by the Japanese Katana sword and designed for Kizer by Indonesian knifemaker Sebastian Irawan.

The Kizer Zen Ki4553 is part of the Bladesmith series, a collaboration between Kizer and knife designers from around the world.

The blade with a tanto profile is made of premium CPM-S35VN steel and hardened to 58-60 HRC. A blade made of such steel is ideal for EDC knives because it is wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, retains its edge for a long time, and is relatively easy to sharpen. CPM-S35VN contains niobium carbides which, in combination with carbon, increase the hardness of the steel by 15 to 20% (compared to CPM-S30V). The addition of vanadium improves strength and impact toughness and also creates fine-grained carbides of enormous hardness that increase blade strength. Molybdenum is another important alloying element that influences wear resistance. To make sharpening easier and faster, we recommend using diamond sharpeners like THE EDGE point SHARP 10-30°.

Thanks to the use of a Tanto-profile blade, the Kizer Noble resembles a Japanese pocket katana with a Kissaki (dagger) blade with a smooth tip. A knife with a Tanto blade offers excellent piercing power and is characterized by its greater stiletto strength.

When unfolded, the blade is securely locked by a monolithic frame-lock with a steel reinforcement insert, which also prevents the blade from swinging out too far. Frame-lock is considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, characterized by dirt resistance and very comfortable handling. The knife's coating is made of lightweight 6AL4V titanium, an alloy with high mechanical strength that is heat, corrosion, acid, and seawater resistant. The stylish milling refers to the decorative braiding originally made on the katana handle from silk or cotton fabric. The oval grooves improve grip and reduce the weight of the sheaths. The knife can be discreetly carried in a pocket using a titanium clip (with the possibility of translation), milled from a single piece of metal. On the back of the handle, there is a clip for attaching a rope or a decorative paracord tail.
