Description
Scimitar
The scimitar is a saber of Near Eastern origin. From around 700 AD, tribes of Muslim descent increasingly penetrated the Mediterranean region. With its deeply curved blade, this beautiful piece brings to life the battles between these Orientals, known as Saracens, and the European Crusaders. The hardwood handle and the hawk-head shaped pommel are typically modeled after the original. This magnificent saber is an almost indispensable prop for lovers of oriental dance.
