Hanwei Tinker Longsword with sharpened blade

Tinker Longsword with sharpened blade

Michael 'Tinker' Pearce has designed a series of Hanwei swords made from 5160 steel, combining authenticity, functionality, and performance.

Replacement blades are available for every sword type in this series, with the exception of the Early Viking Sword. A key feature of Tinker's designs is that the blades are interchangeable. This gives you the option to purchase a complete sword plus a replacement blade, allowing you to use both the sharp and blunt versions. All longswords, bastard swords, and early medieval swords feature Tinker's special assembly system with hex socket barrel nuts, which allows for easy blade changes using an Allen key and ensures that the handle remains securely fastened.

With the Tinker bastard swords (Oakeshott Type XVIIIa), the WMA (Western Martial Arts) adept has a fast and balanced pair of swords that can be operated wonderfully in trained hands. The sharp blade is partially provided with a fuller. With a diamond-shaped cross-section, it tapers to the tip, thus ensuring the necessary flexural rigidity even during cutting strikes. The flattened scent-stopper pommel (Type T-1) forms a natural extension of the two-handed grip, and the robust square crossguard (Type 2) provides the necessary safety. The handle has a hardwood core, wrapped with cord, covered with leather, and provided with steel fittings. A leather-covered scabbard is included.
