Gerber is one of the most renowned knife manufacturers in the world, boasting a proud and storied history. What began in the 1930s with the shipment of kitchen knife sets has now grown into one of the largest knife brands, captivating a huge audience worldwide. Gerber is primarily known for its high-quality and innovative pocket knives and fixed-blade knives, but also for its practical and robust multi-tools, which have been equipping the American military for years. Among Gerber's most famous series is the collaboration with TV star and survival expert Bear Grylls, which has produced a variety of knives, multi-tools, and other outdoor gear. Of course, the characteristic orange color is also very important, so you never lose sight of your tools in the wilderness.

In 1910, the Gerber family founded an advertising company in Portland, Oregon. While working for the family business, Joseph Gerber sent sets of kitchen knives to his clients during the holidays. These handmade knives were extremely popular. As a result, in 1939, catalog retailer Abercrombie & Fitch requested more of these knives from Gerber to sell in its catalog. Gerber founded Gerber Legendary Blades that same year. In 1966, the company moved to a new headquarters in Tigard, Oregon, before the Finnish company Fiskars finally bought the private company in 1987. Gerber remains under their ownership today.
